The money-grubbing bigwigs of the Power & Light district are fighting with Westport, and any other entertainment district of KC, over anyone else getting an open container license. What a bunch of bullsh*t. The theme-bar-park has taken so much money away from local KC bars and restaurants, and are now worried about some healthy competition? Don’t you guys get enough money off the 400% drink markup, cover charges and advertising?
“We believe we are uniquely suited to provide the control measures and safety necessary to provide this unique experience.” – Power and Light District “Chief”
Really? Seriously? Hasn’t the P&L become notorious for their muggings and fights? And is “control” what you consider telling people they aren’t allowed to wear white shirts inside? And the unique experience you’ve mentioned is actually duplicated almost exactly in other cities.
Sorry about the soapbox, but they are like fighting this TOOTH and NAIL. One would think it’d be a bad move to openly discourage the development of local businesses. UGH.
Perhaps it’s the queer face the old lady when she plugs it in.
This comes after I saw an ad for The Clapper today, which literally said, ‘introducing The Clapper.’ Like there’s a tribesman out there who has yet to discover this.
Amazing Race. This is the only show where I really question if I could in fact finish. Doesn’t stop me from criticizing the fools who don’t.
Extreme Home Makeover. Damn this damn show. I dare you not to cry once during this show. IMPOSS.
America’s Next Top Model. Just because Tyra is SO crazy.
Hell’s Kitchen. Whatever, Gordon Ramsey is It. I think it’s okay to be a bit harsh with people cooking food.
Worst? Any and ALL dating shows. No matter what the spin, LAME x1000. And likely any reality show my sister’s watching, i.e. Girlicious, Rock of Love, Hills.
Unrelated: you know what show has totally gone downhill since they changed the format? Best Week Ever. SUCKS.
