“This isn’t science fiction. It’s science fact.”

Something awry obviously happened in the last 40 years. Check out this article written in 1961 about all the cool, outrageous, ridiculous stuff we’re supposed to have figured out and implemented into our daily lives. I’m pretty sure some of it’s available (our machines “talk” to each other, right?) and I’m pretty sure none of it should or will ever come to fruition (i.e. plastic covered roads.)

I do, however, want air walls and a floating roof.
