Approximately the time of my round-trip commute to and from work. So I have a LOT of time on the road lately, and for anyone who knows me at all, isn’t a good thing.
Notes from the road:
-
Nine times out of ten, those who drive big trucks are total assholes on the road. No evident respect for anyone around them, nor able to move their finger AN INCH to use their turn signal. Grrr.
-
Drivers of the Grand Prix are not to be trusted
-
The only part of my trip that I find totally stressful is the damn 1-70 interchange. People start FREAKING OUT like a MILE from the exit/onramp, and it all turns to shit. People pulling out in front of you, erratically changing lanes, babies crying, dogs barking.. you get the idea.
-
East Kansas City is… ugly.
-
They also LOVE Dave Ramsey.
-
I make audible noises driving. I literally go WHOM! everytime I go over a bump, a bubble noise when passing lanes, ‘HEY HEY NOW’ when someone’s getting testy, ‘LAME!’ when behind someone slow, and make this type of whiney whingey noise that sounds like a sad dog when I’m trying to get over.
-
I’m guilty of this as well, but I love it when you’re passing someone who’s obviously singing, and you hope you’ll catch them. While you’re parallel with them they stop and act like they’ve never sang a song and hate the people who do. As soon as your past them, they resume singing the Chris Cox Britney megamix until the next guy comes along.

When someone tells me something is wrong with my car, from that point on I become totally panicked that every burp or weirdness means that I’ve put it off too long and I’m about to break down or blow up. I’ve been told that I need new belts, and since won’t go over 3 rpm’s or turn the a/c on, and pretty sure I’m gonna have to coast into Jiffy Lube tomorrow.
Speaking of cars, I’ve quasi-decided to sell off my gas-guzzling Klausey for a more economic option, hopefully this summer. I figured out I could be saving around $150 .. a month! So the decision’s pretty much made. And thus this total nightmare begins again.

Ahhh, first nice day in weeks! It’s totally over 60 degrees outside right now. Time to get that ol’ rustbucket of a bike out.
I saw “Introducing the Dwights” last night, which is a film I’ve been long been waiting to see. Hmmmph. A bit of a letdown, as they sorta forgot to develop 2 of the main characters. But it’s pretty cute, and if you’re into Australian humor, it’s worth a look.
Oh and the latest in news-you’ve-already-heard : the trailer for the new Indiana Jones movie has been released and I cannot WAIT to see this. Cate Blanchett is the new Jude Law, as she’s in nearly every movie made as of late.
